It seems like I was just thinking about doing a Master of Education and then I decided to jump and apply. I was ready, and I wanted to pursue my studies and invest myself in deeper learning, so why not? I chose UOIT because of my interest in technology, the reputation and the delivery method. Of course the application process was intimidating. Fear set in, will I be chosen? But following the advice of my friend Sarah-Anne Lalonde I jumped and did it! Now as she says, « I will build my wings on the way down .» Of course I am a bit scared, it is a big jump but so far so good.
I received my course syllabus and attended my first two lectures. I really like the syllabus and the suggested projects. I guess I thought that a master program would be more traditional but I am really happy that I will be able to show my creativity in my projects (for which I have a lot of ideas that I will share with you a bit later) which reassures me about my choice in the program and the school.
Moreover, I met my professor and she is amazing. I guess again I had a misconception that professors were « a little mean » but she is kind and welcoming and I feel in my place.
Also, I was surprised about the rich diversity of students in the group. I guess again I thought people would have similar backgrounds to mine but there is a great diversity in experiences and interests in which I look forward to learning from.
I know this journey won’t be easy but it’s a great start!
